【 笠原鉄三 (1918−1999) 】
幼少期に甲府の研磨業に丁稚奉公にはいり水晶の研磨と出会う。太平洋戦争従軍を経て、戦後に研磨業として独立した。口伝のみとなっていた、水晶に麻の葉紋様をほどこす技術を数年の試行錯誤の末に確立し麻の葉カットと命名。1980年、国の卓越した技能者表彰（現代の名工）受賞。
〜 麻の葉カット 〜
石の表面に「麻の葉紋様」をほどこすカット。研磨作業がモーター駆動となる以前にあったとされ、口伝のみの幻のカットと言われていたが、笠原氏により復刻、命名された。笠原氏以前と以後のものが同一か否かを知るすべは今のところない。
〜 麻の葉紋様 〜
麻の葉は古来より神聖なものとされ、神事に用いられてきました。その麻の葉をかたどった伝統的な吉祥紋が麻の葉紋様です。麻は育つのが早く丈夫で、健康や成長の象徴であったため、産着の柄にもよく用いられてきました。外枠となる六角の亀甲紋は長寿と繁栄を示し、その六角は六つの正三角で構成されています。正三角形は古代から力と安定の象徴とされ、魔よけの三角紋として世界各地で確認されています。また麻の葉紋様は、陰陽の調和を示し邪気を祓うという籠目紋も内包しています。
麻の葉紋様は、形状の美しさの中に幸せへの願いが何重にも込められた紋様となっています。

水晶は鉄や強化ガラスよりも硬い物質ですが、水晶同士の接触は欠けの原因となりますのでご注意下さい。万が一欠けましても同じカットは再現困難となりますのでご了承ください。

He started his career as a small child in a polishing business in Kofu.
After serving in the Pacific War, he became an independent polisher.
The hemp leaf cut is a cut in which a "hemp leaf pattern" is applied to the surface of the stone. It is said to have existed before the polishing process was motorized, and was said to be a phantom cut that was only handed down orally.
After several years of trial and error, he established the technique of applying hemp leaf patterns to crystals.
He revived and named the technique as “hemp leaf cut” that had ceased to exist. There is no way to know at this time whether or not the pre-Kasahara version and the post-Kasahara version are the same.
In 1980, he was awarded the "Contemporary Master Craftsman" award from the Japanese government for his outstanding skills.
Hemp leaves have been considered sacred since ancient times and Hemp has often been used as a pattern for maternity clothes as a symbol of health and growth because it was fast growing and strong.
Crystal is harder than iron but it will break when you bump a crystal against a crystal.
Please note that it is difficult to reproduce the same cut if a chip should occur.
