Born in Nagoya, 1972.
Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University, Department of Design.
Completed Aichi Prefectural College of Ceramic Technology.
Opened his own studio in Ehime Prefecture.
Moved his studio to Matsuyama City in 2018, and now works at his own studio, SUGIURAKOUBOW and runs a cafe, too.
He makes mostly white porcelain vessels. The simple design with few decorations is useful in daily life.
【杉浦さんより作品について】
うつわは白磁がメイン。
虚飾がないがふと使いたくなるものを念頭に制作
人形はうつわと違っていわゆる道具としての機能はなく
ほとんど役に立たないけれど
人形が人にもたらすものがあると思っている
でもそれは誰にでも与えられるものでもなく
もろくて不完全なもの
陶人形「或る男」が誰かの心の琴線に触れるものならば
私にとって無上の喜びです。
